Eventually the time was up and so the pie was removed from the oven. As we gazed upon it in wonder, I wondered allowed why we didn't put an egg glaze on the thing to make it look all shiny and brown. I was informed by the Pie Maker that this is the bottom of the pie and we're not going to see it anyway.
The lesson here is that no matter how much you mention that a pie is actually being made upside down, and the bottom is the top and the top the bottom, you'll still forget about it in the end, if you're not a skilled pie artisan.
