As any pie connesoir will tell you, the best day to construct and then eat parts of a pie is a day that is all cold and dreary and generally gross. Just when you think the day is a write-off,
*BAM*, you fill up the house with the scents of a really good pie. And then, if all goes well, and the scent is good enough, you endeavor to actually eat the pie.
A quick check of the weather outside the balcony showed that it was in fact perfect pie construction weather, and so the official pie construction adventure could begin in good conscience.
Thankfully the weather actually was dreary, as I am not overly skilled with photo shopping a picture of a nice day to make it appear drab.
