So, my digital camera uses smartmedia. And, while it is technically easy to
get the pictures off it (judging by how many dumb ones I've
already taken and forced you to see), it does waste battery power. And they
give you a stupidly short cable to connect it to the computer, making it
annoying. And the cable has a proprietary end on it, so you can't just go
buy a longer one.
So I bought an external reader, which is this. It's ugly, but it works. More or
less. There is a little rant involving this reader, and SanDisk telling you
that it works under linux when it in fact does that, that I may share with
you later. If you're lucky.
