Eventually the Caramel ingredients had been stirred and nuked enough times and the process of nukerization was complete. At this point, some last minute ingredients were added in.
The first of this was some baking soda (not baking powder!), which is for making the Caramel all light and fluffy like a cloud. Or at least it fizzes around a bit and then makes the Caramel more airy or something.
Ok, so I don't know the exact reason why this step is so important, but it is! I'm just the cameraman! Get off my back!
